Our Story
Two Women. Same Story. Different Chapters.
This Is GasLit and Gorgeous.
This podcast started because two women kept having the same conversation in parking lots, over text, in the quiet hours after the kids were asleep. The kind of conversation where you finally say out loud what you have been afraid to think. Something is wrong. I know something is wrong. But I cannot explain it. And nobody believes me.
That is where Jessica and Rebecca met. Not in a therapist's office. Not at a conference. In the middle of their own stories, looking for someone who actually understood.
Co-Host and Co-Founder
Meet Jessica
Jessica is co-host and co-founder of GasLit and Gorgeous. She is currently navigating a divorce from her husband. Because of her legal situation, she shares what she can: feelings, patterns, what it is like from the inside, without specific details.
She has 2 children. She is fighting for them and for herself. She is in the middle of her healing journey, which makes her voice real and current for women still in it. She does not have it figured out. She is not on the other side yet. And that is exactly why her words hit different.
Co-Host and Co-Founder
Meet Rebecca
Rebecca is co-host and co-founder of GasLit and Gorgeous. She was married to a man with mental illness who, after 13 years, died by suicide. She has 2 children.
She is further along in her healing, which gives her a perspective of hope and clarity that women earlier in the journey desperately need to hear. She is not an expert. She is a woman who survived something devastating and is still standing. Her voice is the one you hear when you need to know it is possible to come through this. Trust US you can come through this!
Together
Two women. One mission.
Jessica and Rebecca are two women at two different points in the same kind of story. That is intentional. Because when you are going through something like this, you do not need a guru on a stage. You need someone who gets it. Someone who has sat in the car and cried. Someone who has Googled "am I the problem" & "what is a narcissist" at 2 AM.
You will be able to see yourself in both of them. Where you are right now, with honesty & grace, and where you want to be as you move from trauma to thriving!
Why This Exists
Still being written
Jessica and Rebecca are still writing this story, and so are you. This community exists because they needed it and couldn't find it. Because the specific experience of loving someone with mental illness, of having your reality quietly rewritten, of losing yourself inside a marriage that looked fine from the outside, deserves its own space. That is what this is.
For You
Who This Is For
This is for the woman who feels like something is off but cannot explain it. The one who keeps asking herself, "Am I crazy? Is this really happening? Why does nobody see what I see?"
It is for the woman who has been told she is too sensitive, too emotional, too much. The one who has started to wonder if she is losing her mind.
It is for the woman who knows something needs to change but does not know where to start.
You are not crazy. You are not alone. You are not beyond help.
What We Believe
We believe you.
We believe you when you say something is wrong. We believe you even when you cannot prove it. We believe that healing is possible, even when it does not feel like it. And we believe that you deserve to be heard.
We are not professionals. We are not therapists. We are two women who walked through fire and came out the other side with something to say. This podcast is us saying it.
